This tutorial should make recoloring the outlines of Line Art a whole lot faster :)
First open the line art :)
I am using a dragonfly line art from the Faery Ink Archive, but any line art will work.
Increase colors, and remove the background as you usually would ;) Not sure how? Click HERE for a tutorial to teach you how :)
Once you have the background area removed, use your lasso tool
to select the areas you are going to recolor a particular color
I am starting with the wings of the dragonfly
Hold down SHIFT as you select all of the various areas so you dont lose
any of the selection )
Then choose the color replacer tool
with the following settings :
( Click on the tab with those wheelie things to adjust the tolerance to 0
)
Now make the color of the line art ( normally black ) the background color
and the color you want it to be the foreground color
Now click inside your image.

Now all I have to manually add to the wings is ONE pixel that I missed upon
selection :D
Do the same with any other area you need to recolor,

then fill in your line art as you usually would :D

Hope this makes things a little easier :)
